tunneling wounds, often connecting one HS lesion to another.  These may be visible on the surface or felt, but may often only be detected via ultrasound or during a surgical procedure.

A patient can sometimes observe if there is a sinus tract between HS spots when pushing on one lesion, if it leaks out of another.

Your doctor or other medical literature may also refer to sinus tracts as fistulas or tunnels.
