On February 6th, at the at 8th annual European Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation Conference in Poland, Dr. Wayne Gulliver was bestowed the Dr. Albert Neisser Lecture Award for his pioneering research into the use of biologics for the treatment of Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

“One of my Swedish colleagues said this is like the Nobel Prize of Dermatology,” Gulliver was quoted to CBC.

The prestigious dermatology award has been given since 2005 but this marks the first time that it has been awarded for work in Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Dr. Gulliver has been in practice in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, for nearly 30 years. He has supervised over 250 clinical trials and has more than 100 published papers.
